New Country is it really "Country"?

I can't even turn on the radio anymore it's nothing but a buncha junk I feel. Don't get me wrong i'm not down playing the talent that is out there just sometimes i'd like to hear good ol' Hank Sr. or Wayne Hancock!

It's true that country nowadays just really sounds like pop, the only thing that makes it country is either 1. the theme/lyrics 2. the area the singer is from or 3. the singer wears a hat.

I totally agree. It's all pop now with the singer wearing cowboy outfits and having a country 'accent'.

What I'm saying! Country is good, all music is good. Art is good, it's all good. If there is any hope for world peace, it's probably in the Arts. I really do Love Bob Wills. Word up.

No! Today's Country is NOT country music. It is very badly done rock by old rockers and newbies with no idea. Country (of the days of C & W) was very well done by, and much different.

I have allways been a county and blue grass fan.If you like this music go to RFD tv on Sat. night startig at 6:00 pm you will see and hear true traditional country music from Midwest country from the little town of Sandstone Minn. also the Martie Stewart Show , Ronnie Reno old time country music and many more. Check out RFD on the web for more info. :D

Go to RFD tv on Sat . nights and hear David Church.He sings all Hank Williams Sr. old songs and even sounds like Hank.

I totally agree with you,check this out,this week i was listing to a talk show on tv, and to my suprise the guest was the band leader for the David Letterman Late show,cant remember his name,but he was dressed out as a country western star,cowboy boots, hat , shirt and all and started talking about his new country album,What? he a country star,give me a break.
