Yes, my Friend, this is very interesting! I always love to learn this kind of info!
Thanks for doing the research, Tony. :D

Tony...

Your drawing is very good. Obviously people are able to recognize the particular plant easily when viewing your work. Thank you for sharing it with us, and especially for the added story about your drawing. :D

Even though this is 'Visual Arts' & not "Art Critique' .... Since you are doing this as a ref for a book, I'd like to add a couple of suggestions you might want to consider. First off, this doesn't look like a "killa headache" plant (not that seedy). Secondly, if you want to accurately depict this plant I believe you should make a drawing representing both genders of the plant, because there are very real sex related differences between them (even the name). I would also do a highly detailed (inset) of a "bud" drippy with resin. That would be a more accurate & complete representation of this highly controversial botanical wonder!

Hope I've helped.

sure . . . . . . . neither do I, yah, yah, that's it!, see . . .

btw, they don't drip with resin. They have 'glandular trichomes' which, under a microscope, look like lttle clear globes (on a female plant) which are sticky and are meant for catching the boys . . .I have done drawings of both the male and female plant and also a drawing of the entire reproductive cycle.

Ok, you're technically well versed & correct. However, if you draw them 'dripping with resin' like I suggested, it'll definately sell more copies of book!

what is most important is that you draw true to yourself. If you draw what you see, then you are looking through your own lens.
