Contemporary artist. William (Bill) Hewes is an American self-taught artist. I was born in a small town in Massachusetts in 1957.
Before becoming a full-time artist in 2012 after working in the building trades for 40 years and often uses the skills learned from the trades and as a professional painter within his artwork. He paints in the Action/Drip-style, and he built a spinning table to produce amazing large-scale spin paintings. After experimenting with different styles of painting, He settled on abstract artworks because of the freedom within the genre. He gets his artistic inspirations from Jackson Pollock, Robert Natkin, Mark Rothko, Jasper Johns, Leon Golub, and others.
If you have any questions please contact Bill and he will reply as soon as he can.
