As a native Kentuckian,I has appreciated being surrounded by the
abundance of natural beauty that continues to enhance much of my lifetime experience.
Inspired by the influences of the changing seasons, flora and fauna especially indigenous
to this region, My appreciation of nature, color and the contrasts of lights and shadows, is expressed in my work.
I have enjoyed my retirement years translating my artistic skills into painting. I have become student with various fine art painters Art Workshops. My medium of choice is oil, but I also paints with acrylic. My love and appreciation of nature is reflected in my colorful landscapes.
I lived in New Mexico over 20 years, and enjoyed the different styles of art and mediums that the state is famous for. Many trips to Santa Fe and Taos as well as the many artist living in the Albuquerque area and throughout the state. You learn very much when you appreciate the many talents of other fellow artist.
In the late 1980's I met and married my wife, Sharon. She is a native Californian. We made our home along the California Coastline in Channel Islands. This provided an expansive experience from which to draw inspiration, especially the sunset views we enjoyed together. We then moved to the Las Vegas area. I continued my art for the next two and half years in different styles due to the western scenery and mountain landscapes. We then moved back to Kentucky where are retired but still painting alot!
I continues to challenge myself by selecting expanded subject matter, while employing various techniques and tools, with each new endeavor. I enjoy sharing my original creations with a growing number of appreciative art enthusiasts. My goal is to be able to use my artwork to inspire others; to invite them to seize the opportunity and to develop the confidence to try doing something they've never before attempted. Experience painting at any age! Check out my website at howardwalkerart.com Thank you so much for your interest.
