After a working life bound to a desk from 9 to 5, I began to seriously study art and to paint at the age of 60. My work ranges from landscapes of my native Yorkshire Dales, to geometric abstracts, with often, a blend of landscape inspired abstract canvases. I paint in both oils and acrylics, depending on which medium feels appropriate for the particular picture.
I find peace and beauty through art, and feel that visual appreciation is as important as music or reading a good book. I do not look for meaning or messages in my pictures, but paint what feels natural at the time, and leave the image without explanation.
