Landscape in a Box

I am an artist and art educator. That's nice because it means I can try all sorts of things and not worry too much about whether they would make a nice body of work. That said, I have a few primary styles/media: pen, charcoal, and oil pastels. I work mainly in a stream-of-consciousness surrealistic manner. As a work progresses, I usually tell myself stories about what is happening in the picture. I find that helps me to come up with details and an organizing scheme. Frequently, I'll reuse characters and stories to reveal new aspects of them.

I have a Bachelor's in Studio Art and an art education certificate from the University of Georgia.
