Abstract
Dimensions:
2 - 6" square panels
This diptych is two 6" panels to create one piece of art. They are both framed in a black floater frame. They were created using gesso, watercolor paint and paper and encaustic medium. Encaustic Art has been around for the past 5,000 years and this is one of my creations in homage of this amazing technique. The encaustic medium consists of dammar and bees wax which are combined to create the wax. Each layer, which there are 5 in this piece, is fused to the one before with a heat gun. The wax hardens and the piece is finished. There should not be any direct sun with encaustic pieces as the wax will melt off of the substrate. I will enclose a care page and also a history of this extraordinary form o art.
