I’ve always valued and practised contrast between light & shadow, but undoubtedly the most distinctive of my work’s the deep colour and the natural, purposely imperfect, stroke, is a way which I express the freedom means for me the act of painting.
Most of my work has a strong symbolism, totally subjective, so the fish represent the freedom of feelings and inner strength, while the masks, are the means to interpret the mystic, the sacred and the symbolic, without any pretence of wrap it in a religious mood, if not rather making reference to everything that we experience as individuals, what we look at, what we speak and all those silences that we hide.
Also try to print in my work a sense of searching and interpretation of the environment, I often include everyday elements that I use to form and assemble the work as an allegory, guiding the observer into the painting, so that from there he or she can discover their own interpretation,.
As for the techniques I like to experiment and I am constantly trying to learn new things in this field and then I adapt them to my style or my preferences, in any case what I am most passionate about is combining them, very frequently I use ancient techniques, of which I am a big fan, along with avant-garde techniques, which always generates great results.
