Inspirational theme. Washington D.C. Manchurian Lotus is a blending of American Heritage and Asian Heritage. The background of it is formed by leaves from American Lotus. The flower is from a Manchurian Lotus from Kenilwort Aquatic Gardens in Washington D.C. and whose seed dated back to 1200 years. The original seed from where originated that Lotus Flower was discovered in the years 1920 by the botanist Japanese Ichiro Oga in the bed of a dry lake in Manchuria ( China). So, this painting pays homage to both American and Chinese –Asian traditions which melted in Washington D.C.
