As people age they tend to wonder about the choices they made or did not make. They sometimes wonder if age is the final say on the matter. This painting is about such an idea. The old man looks into the sunset and wonders why he never learned to play the cello like he wanted to. Perhaps there were always distractions and so he never got around to it. Though life has passed by, is it too late to learn? Is it ever too late? Look for the signs of aging in this work.

Very nicely done. He proves that indeed, it is never too late, because he is playing it. Kudos

I like the shadow on the wall, he seems almost to be blowing on a favor, making another kind of overlay to the image along with your description. I see the joy of his soul portrayed in the shadows dual action appearance.
