Artist Bio:
Howard Walker

As a native Kentuckian, Howard Walker has appreciated being surrounded by the
abundance of natural beauty that continues to enhance much of his lifetime experience.
Inspired by the influences of the changing seasons, flora and fauna especially indigenous
to this region, Howard’s appreciation of nature, color and the contrasts of lights and shadows, is expressed in his work.

Howard has enjoyed his retirement years translating his artistic skills into painting. He has become student with various fine art painters Art Workshops. Mr. Walker’s medium of choice is oil, but he also paints with acrylic. Howard’s appreciation of nature is reflected in his colorful landscapes.
Howard lived in New Mexico over 20 years, and enjoyed the different styles of art and mediums that the state is famous for. Many trips to Santa Fe and Taos as well as the many artist living in the Albuquerque area and throughout the state. You learn very much when you appreciate the many talents of other fellow artist.

In the late 1980’s Howard met and married his wife, Sharon. She is a native Californian. They made their home along the California Coastline in Channel Islands. This provided an expansive experience from which to draw inspiration, especially the sunset views they enjoyed together. They now live in Kentucky and are still enjoying the beautiful sunsets.

Howard continues to challenge himself by selecting expanded subject matter, while employing various techniques and tools, with each new endeavor. He enjoys sharing his original creations with a growing number of appreciative art enthusiasts. “My goal is to be able to use my artwork to inspire others; to invite them to seize the opportunity and to develop the confidence to try doing something they’ve never before attempted. Experience painting at any age!”
