Crit-eeek!

Postby Evie » Wed Mar 18, 2009 7:51 am

Hi people,

My heart is in art  , but I'd love to explore photography and figure there's no harm in pointing and shooting once in a while. So what do you think - did I hit or miss?

Definitely hit - nice contrast, composition and interest. Who says photography isn't art anyway? I think anything can be art, if it's done right. 8)

Thanks Florian & Bjelly, it's always encouraging to get some support :) I totally agree by the way, photography is such a skillful artform, I wasn't sure if I'd make a dogs dinner of it  My phrasing betrayed me - what I meant was my heart is in painting/drawing, but that wouldn't have rhymed so good and......... oh dear :?

Thanks Debbie :) This is a cathedral round the corner from my apartment that has origins in the 12th century - plus the street has these funky lights that I quite liked too 8)

I didn't see that you replied more, Evie. My bad.
The vision must be awesome, but I bet it looks better in your art.

I like it, it has some interesting lines. The contrast is nice, and it has a good composition overall.

Thanks everyone - I hope to take some more shots soon so I appreciate the encouragement. It's just a little digital camera so the technical side might be a bit lacking, but as long as the composition is interesting, I'm happy. Oh it's a town just outside Galway btw.
