Comprehension

Postby zedek144k » Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:05 pm

The mind can only comprehend what it can achieve at a certain level. You are what you are because of who you are. And the question is - who are you?

hmm I am not sure I agree with you... I don't think we are what we are because of who we are. That just doesn't make sense to me. But I am getting used to that in the lines of some of these threads.

I do however think that we grow due to things we learn, and sometimes we must learn some lessons before we can learn or understand others. An example would be we have to learn to walk before we run. I do think that it is these experiences and how we interpret them that makes us who we are.

Let me put it this way - it is called Resolution of Duality simply put "when you begin to understand who you are to yourself then it follows that what you are as a person to yourself and to society is a product of what you think of yourself - in other words you become what you think".

Brings up the philosophical questions...
" If our perceptions create our reality, then how could you define anyone as insane? Your and their realities might be further apart than others, but how can you consider their reality to be invalid?"

This was the defining question(final exam) in a philosophy class from ages ago.

We consider them to be insane because their perception of reality is so twisted. That usually happens when people accept the truth for a lie and actually worshiped their lies to be the truth.

Couldn't that same argument (How you've just defined insanity) be applied as the definition of why an opposing religious view makes their followers insane?

This becomes a very fine line, and continues shrinking as you analyze it.

No I still do not agree..if I think I am a frog, I don't "become" a frog. I don't even become frog-like. However, if I shape my thoughts say towards a positive outlook, I become a positive person.

There is only One God and so many religions. That is the question of where the TRUTH lies for every individual.

P.S. Got it! ---> truth lies
