work in progress - stuck

Postby melek81 » Mon Feb 02, 2015 1:42 pm

I'm new to landscape paintings (this is only my second one), but it's certainly fun trying to learn! I started this acrylic painting and now I feel stuck with what to add next...initially I wanted to create a forest scene with a good number of black trees , but now I'm thinking I may only do a few scattered trees (some in the distance and one or two in the foreground) to keep it simple. Thoughts/opinions? Keep it simple? Thank you! :)

use the rule of thirds placement, and framing the create a sense of a focal point, or just framing the foreground to give depth and dimension. Check out "the rules of composition" in Photographic Landscapes. Good Luck, great foundation for magic!
