i know i should be giving you props for boosting the music thread, and bad vibes are never a good thing, but to satisfy my snob side, and to get into this forum for once, i must say: FUCK avril lavigne. designated for those who could love britney's pop saturation if only they didnt like the image she went with.

so now she's nouveau-processed punk crap with a loose tie and STILL garbage for lyrics and sleep-fests for music

"DAVID BAU-WEE?"

i get confronted endlessly with how good she is because her music sends a positive message to "not be afraid of who you are" and "be yourself." it's got the same effect as making someone listen to soft rock and saying "see? it's got guitars in it..."

I must say I don't have the same feelings as you Rez, since I don't get confronted with people telling me she's good (until now) or bad (until just now). But what you're saying is what I feel about 90% of the alternative they play now, which took Nirvana's talent, and stripped off everything but the mood, which these "pretending not to be jock rock" bands still don't understand and push to its angry limit. So for them at least, check on the crappy lyrics and check on the lack of talent. As for Avril, maybe I'll go download some MP3s and hear what you guys are ranting about.

KWOD is playing old stuff from the early-mid nineties. Today I heard "stoned" by cracker for the first time in like 5+ years.
