Gotta see this one.....

Postby Greg » Tue Nov 20, 2007 7:13 am

I know I should have put this in the "Movie Review" thread but that got out of control real fast."No Country For Old Men" is an amazingly good movie. Classic Coen brothers, which means violent and bloody. It also means an eye for the landscape like no one else since John Ford.
The acting is superb and the litttle twists, turns and dead-ends that the plot takes is also what makes the Coen brothers so good at what they do.
Please be forewarned, it is a shockingly violent movie but worth seeing. Greg

Man, Thanks a bunch!
I've been seeing the teasers and I thought it looked good. Thank you
for confirming. I really like Tommy Lee, hope he has a big part.
Thanks again!

Ya, He's a major character, if you mean Tommy Lee Jones, tha actor, not the guy who married that woman from that lifeguard TV show. Also, watch for Barry Corbin, small part but excellent. Greg

My buddy just told me about it today, said it's not as humorous as their other work, very dark ala Blood Simple. So don't expect too much quirky Fargo styled bits. And Mr. Jones is supposed to be great.

I'm also getting geared up for a remake that just might be better than the original, Rolling Thunder. The William Devane/Tommy Lee Jones vigilante war vet original has got a strong cult following, but wasn't the most polished looking film. Hope it brings back the noir crime film.

Classic Coen Brothers! There is a little comic relief and there are times you need it.
What gets me about the Coens is their eye for the environment of the characters. Whether it's a trailer or the winter wastelands of the midwest these guys have an eye for place. Greg

Or, of course, a bowling alley!
