Robins in the Hood

Postby lynnielu » Thu Feb 11, 2010 6:42 pm

This photo was taken just today in my next door neighbor's backyard, following yesterday's snowstorm. There were up to 20 or 30 robins at one point. It was amazing and beautiful.

This is one of a hawk that chased away all the robins. When he left, they all came back.

That's so cool - the more you look the more robins appear. Great shots Lynn.

actually they are thrushes (that look like robins, and were mistakenly thought of as) as robins are only indiginous to europe. Actual robins are much smaller and could not possibly have been able to migrate to this continent. An old friend that lived in England who is very wise told me this and I have no reason to doubt her word. We call them robins, but they are only thrushes.

Amazing is right. I have never seen anymore than a single robin at one time.
