Yellow Retro Stove

Postby vicini01 » Tue Aug 29, 2006 10:20 am

I completed this painting about 10 months ago. I really enjoyed the subject matter and the imagery. I was going to try to do another one similiar to it. Let me know what you think.

Wow - love it, and the YELLOW. You don't often see yellow being used this much in most paintings, maybe because it's such a powerful color by itself. Great job on the details, like the burners in the foreground and the multi-colored reflections. I think the burner in the background could have used a little more attention - not too much more detail to bring it forward really, but it lacks the metallic and structural quality of the rest. Anyway, enough of that. Great painting. :D

You have really become an expert with reflections. I
very envious. Keep up the great work.
I love the nostalga of the stove too. At least it
reminds of a stove back in the 60's.

I agree with Bloodjelly on the background, but other than that, you have great attention to detail. The refections are great and I love the perspective. If you do another one definitely post it so we can see :D .

Thank you for the feedback. This has been very helpful. I think it is important to maintain the same amount of energy throughout the painting. Sometimes I am guilty of slacking off on detail near the completion of the painting. My new painting maybe red - or white - not sure. I will post it next week.

As with the other ones, your skills in presenting everyday items in a way that really makes one look, is stunning. Like the others said, how you are able to present shiny surfaces like metal an glass is really special.

Always a treat when you show us one of those.

Great painting and I can't add anything to what has been critiqued. :D

I haven't been on for a few months and this is the first thing that I randomly clicked onto. WOW! I just love this painting. I am re-inspired.
